Born in Northampon, UK, Alex was based in Graz/Vienna Austria until 2024, when the solo-project Alex Knot began in Berlin, DE.

Alex Knot’s ideas are born on the delicate, nylon-string banjo made from scratch by his father.

“When the soft melodies harmonize our background noise, the song writing begins”.

To accompany his live performances, Alex Knot repairs old radios for a second life on stage. Together with the old-time inspired banjo technique, his songs combine with the lonely radio for an ethereal break from today’s broken hum.

“When the song resonates with the right interference, the repairing is done”.

His debut EP “out of the factory” was recorded over winter 2024/25 and is due to release later this year. The record is an escape from exhaustion, empty entertainment, and error. It’s the repair-job following a mistake; the fix from tuning in too deep.

Along side his solo project, Alex is an active member in the indie band Good Wilson who achieved millions of streams on Spotify and beyond. Furthermore, he has been a session and live musician for pedal-steel guitar in many alternative music projects including:
